The Energy Transition Dialogues (TETD), a three-day event organised by the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), concluded by releasing the TETD Communique - Blueprint for a People-Positive Energy Transition. This comprehensive document outlines key principles and actionable plans essential for accelerating a sustainable energy transition in India and worldwide. The Communique reflects the collaborative efforts and shared commitment of all partners involved in the Dialogues.

The Communique is the result of months of collaborative discussions that took place alongside the G20 summit, covering six crucial pillars of energy action: enhancing Renewable Energy (RE) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to achieve 50 GW per annum, scaling up energy efficiency, utility modernization, decarbonization of transport, people-positive energy transition, and clean energy financing. It provides policy and regulatory recommendations for key priority areas, supporting India's net-zero ambitions and offering a blueprint for reliable energy access leading up to COP28.

Building on the legacy and commitments set during India's G20 Presidency, particularly The 'New Delhi Declaration', GEAPP is dedicated to supporting the government's vision of accelerating a clean, sustainable, affordable, and inclusive energy transition. The Global Biofuels Alliance, announced during the G20 conference in India, will serve as a platform to promote global collaboration for the advancement and widespread adoption of biofuels.

The event concluded with a keynote address by Tarun Kapoor, Advisor, Prime Minister's Office, Government of India, who emphasised the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition. He noted that India's exponential growth and energy demand require a shift towards renewables, green hydrogen, and biofuels to ensure energy security, affordability, and environmental protection.

During the event, a comprehensive report titled 'Accelerating Battery Storage Adoption by DISCOMS in India' was released. This report, a result of collaboration between GEAPP and RMI, highlights the pivotal role of energy storage and the importance of integrating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at the distribution level to meet the evolving demands of the power system.

The Energy Transition Dialogues featured extensive discussions on topics such as collaborative approaches to accessible energy, reforms in Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), India's growing role as an energy hub in the Indo-Pacific region, global collaborations for sustainable transportation, expanding the use of wind and solar energy in developing nations, and the establishment of a global climate alliance to regulate pricing, trade, investment, and technology, promoting a seamless transition towards a cleaner energy future.

The Dialogues concluded with a renewed commitment to actionable pathways for the energy transition. GEAPP will present the Communique at COP28 to reflect this commitment and showcase India's dedication to a global clean energy future.
