In a significant move, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Dhanuka Agritech Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to champion natural farming in India, a crucial step in the global battle against climate change. The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare announced the sign-off.

Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR Dr U.S. Gautam emphasised the global challenge of climate change and India's role in addressing it. He underscored the need for collaborative efforts between institutions to develop climate-friendly agricultural practices. The signing of this MoU is a significant step towards promoting natural farming in the evolving environment, he added, instilling a sense of hope for the future of agriculture in India.

Dr Aggarwal said Dhanuka Agritech would provide small farmers with advisory services and training related to agricultural production by associating with the central institutes, ATARIs, and KVKs.

Dr Gautam said the objective of this agreement is to use the efficiency of both institutions to deliver new technology to farmers. He said there are more than 14.5 crore farmers across the country, most of whom have small land holdings.
