Kinetic Green's Founder and CEO, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, and Chairperson of the FICCI EV Committee stressed the need for creating demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and establishing a comprehensive ecosystem, including charging infrastructure, to accelerate the sector's growth. Speaking at a FICCI event, Motwani emphasised the role of electrification in achieving India's net-zero emission targets.

Motwani highlighted the importance of making EV prices attractive for consumers and recognised the need for a holistic EV ecosystem, encompassing batteries, cells, minerals, and charging stations. Kinetic Green, a part of the USD 2 billion Firodia Group, is actively involved in the electric mobility space, manufacturing battery-operated three-wheelers, scooters, e-cycles, and buggies.

Manish Sharma, Chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions-India & South Asia and Ficci Electronics and White Goods Committee Chairman, underscored the significance of backward integration, harmonising standards, and developing policies and testing facilities aligned with international standards. He shared success stories from India's electronics sector.

Pawan Kumar Goenka, Chairman of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), emphasised India's need to cover more ground in manufacturing as its share in global merchandise exports remains below 2 percent, with a global ranking of 17. Goenka outlined an ambitious goal of achieving USD 1 trillion in merchandise exports by 2030, aligning with aspirations for self-reliance in manufacturing and positioning India as a global manufacturing hub.
