The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited have launched 'Uttam Pranaam', a Bio nano Phosphorus fertiliser designed to bolster self-reliance in the Indian agricultural sector.

This innovative solution aligns with the PM-PRANAM programme emphasis on nano-fertilisers, driving indigenous innovation and sustainability.

Nanofertilisers offer improved nutrient uptake for plants and can reduce the use of traditional fertilisers. This technology supports TERI's commitment to sustainable farming practices and India's vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

"These fertilisers will help to reduce GHG emissions, which are adversely impacting the environment," said Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI.

Ashish Srivastava, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, added, “Uttam Pranaam is not just a fertiliser; it's a game-changer. It revolutionises [agriculture] and becomes the catalyst for empowerment in the hands of our farmers.”

The launch took place in Bhatinda, Punjab. TERI also inaugurated a new production facility for the Bio nanofertiliser with an initial capacity of 40 lakh litres per year, easily scalable to meet rising demand.
