Waaree Energies Wins 200 MW Module Supply Order From Engie India

Waaree Energies has secured a 200 MW module supply contract from Engie India for a solar project in the Surendra Nangar district of Gujarat.

A statement from the company reads, "Waaree Energies has received an order from Engie India to supply 200 MW of solar modules for a solar power project in Sayla village in the Surendra Nagar district of Gujarat." The statement does not disclose the order's value.

Engie India is a subsidiary of the French-based Engie Group, a global player in low-carbon energy and services.

The Sayla village project, designated as GUVNL 2, is being developed by the company under a 25-year solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL).

Hitesh Doshi, Chairman and Managing Director of Waaree Group, stated in the release, "This order from Engie India validates Waaree's position as India's leading solar module manufacturer."

The supply agreement with Engie is set to commence from November of this year and is expected to be completed by February 2024.

The 200 MW of AHNAY 545 Wp Bifacial modules to be provided by the company for the Sayla village project will generate 34 crore units of electricity annually.
