Agricultural Chief Scientists (ACS) will convene for three days in Varanasi beginning on April 17 for the first of five G-20 sessions.

Senior officials, decision-makers, scientists, and experts from G-20 member states, invited countries, and international organisations will gather at the ACS meeting, which is a component of the overarching G-20 theme "One Earth-One Family-One Future," to discuss and identify R&D priorities in agriculture and to strengthen cooperation for the transformation of sustainable agriculture and food systems.

Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems for Healthy People and Planet is the theme of this year's ACS meeting. Participants in the meeting will talk about crucial topics like the role of scientific advancements in sustainable agriculture and food systems for food security and nutrition, the promotion of millets and ancient food grains, resilient and nature-positive agriculture, digital agriculture, and public-private partnerships in agricultural R&D.

A trip to Sarnath for the participants, Ganga aarti, and trade facilitation are also on the agenda in addition to these debates.

The state government and district administration will actively participate in and support the meeting, which will be presided over by the Secretary of DARE & DG, ICAR. The PIB has made the agenda for the ACS meeting public. Professionals from all around the world are expected to participate.
