Exclusive Motors to represent Lotus Cars across India and will open its first showroom in Delhi, more stores in other cities depending on consumer response and demand
Lotus Cars, the British manufacturer renowned for its high-performance sports cars, has made its foray into the Indian market by introducing three variants of its electric SUV, Eletre, with prices starting at Rs 2.55 crore.
The company, under the ownership of the Chinese brand Geely, unveiled three models of its Eletre electric Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in India—Lotus Eletre, Eletre S, and Eletre R. These variants are priced at Rs 2.55 crore, Rs 2.75 crore, and Rs 2.99 crore, respectively (all ex-showroom pan-India).
Exclusive Motors has been appointed as the authorised representative for Lotus Cars throughout India, with plans to inaugurate its first showroom in Delhi in the coming months.
Dominic Baumgart, Head of Aftersales, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and India, Lotus Cars, expressed, "This is the right time for entering the India market."
Satya Bagla, Managing Director of Exclusive Motors India, highlighted the supportive environment from the Government of India in the electrification programme and the rapid development of charging infrastructure, stating, "It is done in a very robust manner and is very encouraging. We feel that's the right time now to bring in luxury electric vehicles."
Following the inauguration of its initial store in Delhi, Exclusive Motors plans to open additional stores in other cities, contingent upon consumer response and demand.
Lotus Cars will import the vehicles from its global factories to the Indian market.
In 2024, the company is set to introduce The Emira, its latest and final internal combustion sports car, into the market.
