Union Power Minister R. K. Singh is scheduled to launch two energy-saving initiatives: the National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) and the Energy Efficient Fans Programme (EEFP), according to an official statement.

"The minister recently inaugurated the star labelling programme for solar panels to help consumers assess the efficiency of their solar projects. On November 2, he will introduce two more initiatives, NECP and EEFP," stated a power ministry official.

EESL's NECP is an initiative designed to promote energy-efficient cooking methods. EESL's induction-based cookstoves offer a cost advantage of 25–30 percent compared to traditional cooking methods, resulting in cost and energy savings.

EEFP, another programme by EESL, aims to encourage energy-efficient cooling solutions. The deployment of energy-efficient BLDC fans reduces energy consumption and minimises environmental impact.

The event will be attended by officials from the Ministries of Power, New and Renewable Energy, EESL, and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is a joint venture involving NTPC, Power Finance Corporation, REC, and POWERGRID.
