Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd., a key player in soda ash manufacturing and a part of the Singapore-based AM International, has achieved a significant breakthrough by initiating commercial production of green soda ash at its facility in Tamil Nadu.

This achievement results from the company's innovative use of cutting-edge carbon capture technology, making the manufacturing of soda ash carbon-neutral. The project aligns perfectly with AM International's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, focusing on producing environmentally friendly product solutions.

Founder-Chairman of AM International, Ashwin Muthiah, expressed his pride in achieving this carbon-neutral milestone, emphasising the company's vision of contributing to a cleaner environment.

This achievement is not just a technological feat but also a move towards a circular economy, as the company can capture carbon dioxide from the flue gases of biomass boilers and reuse it, resulting in a near-zero carbon effect.

Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd. is South India's sole and largest producer of soda ash, and this project signifies a shift away from fossil fuels and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The company has already partnered with a multinational company to supply green soda ash in detergent manufacturing and is optimistic about forging more partnerships in the future.

This accomplishment reflects Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd.'s commitment to AM International's vision of a circular economy and a cleaner, more sustainable future.
